NEWS 2023 EMILIA ROMAGNA: BETWEEN DELICACIES AND PASSIONS

1 DAY ARRIVAL
Arrival in Bologna area. Accomodation, dinner and overnight in Hotel.

2 DAY BOLOGNA: LA DOTTA, LA GRASSA E LA ROSSA
Breakfast and guided tour in Bologna, capital of Emilia Romagna. Bologna is the seat of the oldest university in the western world (1088) and the cultural impact gave gave the University the name of “La Dotta” (the knower). Another nickname is “La Rossa”, in allusion to its terracotta tiles of Middle Age but nowadays the red colour suggests that is due to other “Rosse”: Ducati and Ferrari. The last nickname is “La Grassa”, (the fat) due to its excellent cuisine and land of Mortadella. The tour begins with Piazza Maggiore with its famous buildings. The next step is dedicated to the Basilica of San Petronio, that shows masterpieces od late Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque. The tour ends in the shadow of two symbols of the medieval city: Asinelli Tower which is known as one of the tallest tower in Italy and Garisenda Tower which was also cited by Dante’s “Inferno”. Free lunch and afternoon at disposal for own visits and shopping. Before going back to the Hotel we suggest a short break to taste the famous Mortadella. Dinner and overnight.

3 DAY MODENA: VINEGAR AND FERRARI
Breakfast and departure to Modena for a guided visit. The city is a beautiful preserved old town with wonderful places like Piazza Grande with Palazzo Comunale, the magnificent Cathedral and Torre Ghirlandina which is the symbol of Modena. Before going to Maranello we suggest a stop in vinegar cellar where you can taste the famous balsamic vinegar with local products. In the afternoon trip to Maranello to visita Galleria Ferrari, the racing history museum of the most famous brand in the world. Dinner and overnight.

4 DAY PARMA: HAM AND PARMESAN CHEESE
Breakfast and trip to Parma, a roman city rich of extraordinary roman monuments and birthplace of Giuseppe Verdi and Arturo Toscanini. Today Parma is famous for the Royal Theatre, for its cuisine and the excellent quality of food: ham, parmesan cheese, meat, pasta and much more. After the visit transfer to a ham factory in Langhirano area to taste the most famous products such as Parma ham, Parmesan cheese and Lambrusco wine. Back to the Hotel, dinner and overnight.

5 DAY CULTURE DAY IN RAVENNA
Breakfast and departure to Ravenna with your guide. Ravenna is the city of Mosaics classified Wolrd Heritage. During the tour you will see the most important monuments of the Gothic and Byzantine time: the Mausoleum, Sant’Apollinare Nuovo, Galla Placidia (the oldest architectonic monument in Ravenna) , the Mosaics and the Basilica of San Vitale, the best in Ravenna. Free lunch. Before going on to Cesenatico we suggest a last stop to visit the Basilica Sant’Apollinare in Classe, out of town , that is an important testimony of the ancient Christian architecture. Back to Hotel, dinner and overnight.

6 DAY DUCATI MUSEUM
Breakfast and morning dedicated to the visit of Ducati World in Bologna to learn more about this motorcycle. Free lunch and free afternoon. Dinner and overnight.
