1° Day: WELCOME TO MADRID
Arrival
at Madrid airport and transfer. Meet with local guide and visit along
the noble avenues past the Cibeles Fountain and down the Gran Via to the
statue of Don Quixote in the Plaza de España. In the afternoon visit
the Prado Museum, a magnificent palace housing works by Botticelli,
Velazquez, Goya, Titian, Rubens and others.
2° Day: TOLEDO AND CORDOBA
Set
off southwards for a visit to the city of Toledo, situated high above
the River Tagus. This was Spain’s capital during the golden era, where
Arab, Jewish and Christian cultures flourished side by side in the
Middle Ages. The trip goes on to the perfectly preserved Moorish city of
Cordoba.
3° Day: CORDOBA AND SEVILLE
See the famous
2,000 years old bridge with a local guide. The visit goes on with the
magnificent Mezquita, an 8th century mosque with a Christian church
built inside It. Afterwards, there is free time to stoll through the
narrow streets of the Old Jewish Quarter. Then departure to Seville,
capital of Andalucia and simply one of Spain’s most charming jewels. At
night, enjoy the flavours of Andalucia and share in the passion of
Spain’s most fiery, region at a Flamenco show with dinner.
4° Day: GRANADA
Breakfast
and departure to Granada past gleaming white villages and olive groves
that stretch as far as the eye can see. Overlooking the town, stands one
of the most remarkable fortresses ever built – The Alhambra. Explore
this exquisite palace; a fantasy of stone-cut lace, araesque gardens and
fountains, built as a citadel by the Moors in the 13th century.
5° Day: VALENCIA
Departure
to Valencia, the City of Arts and Sciences. Visit with guide the old
town, past the City Gates of Serranos and Quart to reach the hotel.
Valencia is the home to one of the world’s greatest dishes, paella.
Learn the authentic recipe in a fun cookery demonstration and savour the
flavours of classic dish for dinner, washed down with a glas of
sangria.
6° Day: BARCELONA
Breakfast and departure to
Barcelona, capital of Catalunya region. Meet a local guide and explore
the narrow lanes and old squares behind the cathedral. See the lively
Las Ramblas as you head along the Passeig de Gràcia. Continue through
the Eixample district for a visit inside Gaudi’s extraordinary
masterpiece, the Sagrada Familia.
7° Day: ALONG THE COAST TO NICE
Breakfast
and departure to the famous Côte d'Azur. Unlock the secrets of the
French perfume industry with a visit to a perfumery.
8° Day: ARRIVAL IN ITALY
Breakfast
and short visit to Monaco to see the Royal Palace, yacht-filled harbour
andthe cathedral, housing the tomb of Princess Grace. Departure to
Italy and stop in the surrounding of Lake Garda.
9° Day: LAKE GARDA / VERONA
Breakfast
and departure to Sirmione, a little fishermen’s village with Its SPA
and Scaliger’s Castle of the 13th century. After the visit departure to
Verona, the elegant city of Verona, legendary home of the Shakespeare’s
star-crossed lovers. Walk with local guide past the roman Arena to the
reputed famous balcony in the courtyard of the Capulet home. After free
time to explore, the tour continues to Venice.
10° Day: VENICE AT LEISURE
Breakfast
and transfer to Tronchetto to cath the private ferry to St. Mark’s
Square. See the Basilica, the Doge’s Palace and the Bridge of Sighs. In
the afetrnoon free time in Venice for your own visits and shopping.
Return to Tronchetto by boat and transfer to the Hotel by bus.
11° Day: PISA AND ARRIVAL IN FLORENCE
Breakfast and drive to Pisa to see the incredible Leaning Tower. See also the splendid Cathedral and Bapistery.
12° Day: FLORENCE, BIRTHPLACE OF THE RENAISSANCE
Breakfast
and meeting with local guide. The visit starts with Duomo or Cathedral
of Santa Maria del Fiore, the baptistery and bell tower, piazza della
Signoria (open air museum), exterior of the famous Uffizi Gallery and
Ponte Vecchio the old bridge. The joys of Florence are varied so the
afternoon will be free for your own personal exploration.
13° Day: TUSCANY / UMBRIA
Breakfast.
Journey through the picture-perfect scenery of the tuscan hills, where
deep-green cypress trees pierce blue skies and olive groves hug the
rolling hillsides. Stop for a tasting for local products and wine in
Tuscany. Arrival in Rome.
14° Day: ROME
Breakfast and
meeting with your local guide and enjoy the very best of the city’s
highlights including a tour at the Vatican Museums, culminating beneath
Michelangelo’s famous ceiling in the Sistine Chapel. The visit ends with
the visit of the magnificent St. Peter’s Basilica. In the afternoon the
visit goes on with the spectacular Trevi Fountain, don’t forget to
throw a coin in the beautiful fountain as you are guaranteed to return
to Rome if
you do; Navona Square, Spain Steps and the Pantheon.
15° Day: ANCIENT ROME
Breakfast
and meeting with the local guide. The visit proceed to the ancient Rome
with the roman Forum and the grand ruins of Colosseum, also known as
Amphitheatrum Flavium. Afternoon free time for your own visits and
shopping.
16° Day: ARRIVEDERCI
Bid farewell to Europe. Transfer to Fiumicino Airport.
